Day 1b of the €1,100 Eureka 5 Hamburg Main Event went successfully in chip lead with Imad Fakhro bagging 206,600. Day 1a leader Kadir Uzunoglu still was ahead of him, but Fakhro was the only one to cross the 200k mark in the 111-entry field on May 24, 2015. The German was not ready to pose for chip leader photo shoot. Also, he was shy to uncover any information related to him.
Now, the event is halfway through the Day1s with two of total four starting flights in its lot. Days 1C and D will be held after two days on Wednesday and Thursday. In the meanwhile, the €2,200 two-day High Roller will play out.
A day earlier, 103 players participated in the event, while the latest one saw 111 participants. As many as 12 45-minute levels occurred. Fakhro was followed by Nick Krasniqi, who scored 168,000; Elias Piloti (166,600); and Thomas Dietl who showed up with 157,800. In all, 35 players got success, with Hanno Offen, Robert Gorschewsky, Peters, and Matthes scoring 148,700, 148,400, 65,600, and 72,500, respectively.
The World Series of Poker witnessed Tim Kahlmeyer cashing eight times. With 74,600 in his lot, he outdid Marco Matthes. He further aims at making more cash in Eureka Hamburg Main Event on his home ground. Matthes was Kahlmeyer’s fellow countryman, who reported the best ever result of his career in 2009 WSOP Main Event. He was at 23rd place for $352k. Reports say that Matthes will move ahead with 72,500.
The live scene had another player, Tobias Peters, who was there at Day 1b. The Dutchman scored 65,600.
According to reports, Rama Kusnadi had a good start as he punished those playing extremely passively. Nevertheless, he fell in between. Similarly, before going out of action in level 10, the EPT3 Baden champion, Thang Duc Nguyen, had a tripping day. Once the Andreas Thiele check-raised with second pair to strike Nguyen who held the nut straight, Nguyen touched 50,000. He, then, passed the gift to Quentin Weber. Weber lead the field for a good amount of time and then, fell back. While Nguyen got successful in recovering from the trouble, he could not make it to Day 2.
For now, the two upcoming flights are likely to be the most engaged ones. They may come out as 200-entry fields while having the most popular players, including Team PokerStars Pro Jan Heitmann, Dzmitry Urbanovich - EPT11 Player of the Year, Natalie Hof - Friend of PokerStars, Allan Baekke & Jannick Wrang - EPT champions, Zoltan Gal - Eureka 4 Vienna champ, and Elton - German TV host. These events may also feature CommanderKrieger and T-Zon, who are renowned video bloggers.
In the intervening time, the €2,200 High Roller is to take place, whose Day 1 will begin at 7pm. Max Kruse, German Football Star, has confirmed his participation in the same. Kruse has wonderful poker abilities, which was proved when he participated in the World Series of Poker, and ranked 3rd for $36,494 in a NL 2-7 Draw Lowball event. He has won the national team as many as 10 caps. Besides, he had a great summer in Las Vegas; however, the striker, 27, did not partake last year in the World Cup winning squad of Germany.
Back in February, the Eureka High Roller was won by Dzmitry Urbanovich for €25,725 in Rozvadov. It was when he just began with his live tournament winning campaign. Thereafter, the last two EPT stops witnessed him gaining €2.3 millions, which included his quadruple in Malta that overshadowed the earlier European Poker Tour records.
