The "5 Reel Drive" slot machine by Microgaming is a shout out to the American car culture of the 1950s. In addition to classic Chevys and race logos, the symbol set includes fuzzy dice, big rigs, police patrols and all the eats one would find at a classic American diner.
As with all the games that are part of Microgaming’s original video slot series, gameplay is rather simple. The game has nine lines, and the play can choose how many to activate. The small coin size is $0.25, and the big coin size is $2. Set the stake using the minus and plus buttons. Use the Select Lines button to set the active lines, and then click the Spin button. Alternatively, use the Bet Max button.
The 5 Reel Drive machine has two special features: a wild symbol and a scatter symbol. The wild symbol is a yellow road sign; it can appear anywhere on the reels and substitute for anything other than the scatter. The police patrol car is the scatter symbol. It pays out up to 50 coins when three or more of the symbols are anywhere on the reels, including inactive lines. The scatter payout, however, is multiplied by the coins staked, so on a max bet, the scatter can pay out as much as 450 coins.
Graphics and Audio
This machine has some of the better graphics and audio in this entire series by Microgaming. Keep in mind that the game has been out for quite a while now; nevertheless, it manages to hold its own in the looks and sound department with slot machines that are much more cutting edge technology wise.
The race flag and burning tire symbol is the jackpot symbol, and it pays out 10,000 coins whenever five of the symbols are adjacent on an active bet line. At that maximum coin size of $90, that’s an impressive potential payout on a single line and a potential total payout of $180,000.
The original video slot series by Microgaming is all about streamlined slots fun, and the 5 Reel Drive game achieves that better than most. The machine is straightforward, it pays well and it’s suited to both low rollers and high rollers alike. The low roller can wager just $0.25 on a single active payline and still have the opportunity to take home $2,500, which is quite good. Don't miss to visit our online slots for more intensive fun!
