A Night Out is a nightclub-themed video slot machine by Playtech that has five reels and 20 lines and access to the Dollar Ball progressive jackpot. There is also a Playtech scratch card named “A Night Out” that uses the same graphics, music and other assets.
This machine supports a coin size as small as a penny and as high as $100, but most of the casinos that host it will limit that top coin size to $1, $2 or perhaps even $5. Players can bet up to 10 coins per line and choose how many of the lines are active during a spin. All wins pay left to right, and many of the symbols require only two or three symbols across to pay out. If the user activates Dollar Ball, each spin costs an additional dollar, and that dollar is placed toward a shot at a progressive pot that is separate from the main game.
The frothy beer mug is both the jackpot symbol and the wild symbol, and as the wild, it can substitute for any other symbol besides the scatter to form a winning combination. The scatter symbol is represented by a women dancing in a yellow dress, and it can pay out up to 50 coins when three or more symbols appear anywhere on active lines. When the bonus symbol hits on the first and fifth reel, the game presents a pick’em-style bonus round that awards free spins. If players choose to participate in Dollar Bar, they have to select five numbers. During their spins, the system will randomize five numbers, and the player wins the pot if all five numbers are matched.
Graphics & Audio
This is an attractive and engaging slot game that has a great art style and makes excellent use of a diverse palette. It employs electronic sound effects that add to the immersion and are never obnoxious. Our only gripe is that the game does not use the subtle and effective background music that is present on the scratch card version of this game.
The line jackpot on this machine is 10,000 coins, and the number of coins stake per line acts as a multiplier, so you can win up to 100,000 coins per line. It is possible to hit the jackpot on all 20 lines, which means that the maximum payout per spin is two million coins. That amounts to $20,000 at a penny coin size, which is quite good. The Dollar Ball progressive jackpot can be won in addition to any jackpot won on the main game.
