Jurassic Jackpot is a traditional slot game by Microgaming that finds as much inspiration in Steven Spielberg’s Jurassic Park as possible without having to pay a licensing fee. Like most of the games in Microgaming’s classic slot series, Jurassic Jackpot has three spinning reels, a single payline and a two-column paytable that scales evenly across the board.
As you’d expect from pub slots, Jurassic Jackpot’s gameplay is simple. Coin sizes range from $0.25 to $5, and the player chooses to bet one or two coins. If you choose one coin, then use the left side of the paytable, and if you choose two coins, use the right side. The UI buttons at the bottom of the screen include minus, plus, Bet One, Bet Max and Spin. You’ll find graphic and audio controls up top and a series of options at the bottom that let you automate spins and put the game in a streamlined expert mode.
The Jurassic Jackpot logo is both the jackpot symbol and a wild symbol. As a wild symbol, it has a built-in multiplier that can double or quadruple the payout for a winning combination. The game also offers several “any” features: any bar, any one lotus and any two lotus. The any features don’t pay out much, but they do trigger quite often and allow you to get a lot of playtime out of your bankroll.
Graphics and Audio
Most of Microgaming’s classic slots, such as those on this page, are quite polished, and this game is no exception. There’s only so much developers can do with a classic slot machine, but they do it well here, including sound effects and reel action that’s just as good as the real thing.
For one-coin bets, the jackpot is 800 coins, which is worth as much as $4,000. For two-coin bets, the jackpot is 1,600 coins, which is worth as much as $8,000. The second most valuable symbol, the dinosaur bones, can pay out as much as the single-coin jackpot when a wild is in play, which is certainly extra motivation to wager two-coin bets; nevertheless, you lose out on the any one feature because it’s only available on single-coin bets.
For slot players who enjoy classic slot experiences, it’s hard to do much better than Jurassic Jackpot. This is certainly a machine that you’ll want to play on a regular basis. The game is suited to all player types, and low rollers should feel comfortable playing at $0.25 a spin and mid / high rollers playing at $50 per bet.
