The iGaming industry has become both highly competitive and saturated with iGaming software companies. Anytime these two scenarios come together within the same industry, larger companies start buying up the smaller company to take advantage of product lines while also eliminating some of the competition. In the case of iGaming software developer WagerLogic, the company has proven to be a popular acquisition on not one, but two instances over the past four years.
About the Company
The company was originally introduced as a subsidiary of CryptoLogic in 1996. After developing well-over 100 different online casino games for it’s parent company to use it in turnkey software platform solution, WagerLogic’s iGaming software was absorbed along with the publicly-help CryptoLogic in 2012 by one of the gaming industry’s powerhouses, Amaya Gaming. While CryptoLogic had since been delisted, many of the company’s games were still being used in conjunction with Amaya Gaming’s software platform. After less than two years, Amaya sold the WagerLogic casino games group to Goldstar Acquisitionco Inc. out of Malta for $70 million.
About the Software
Throughout the years, WagerLogic games were developed through the use of cutting edge software development tools life Flash and HTML5. Subsequently, its games have been easily integrated with other third-party software platforms. After integration, these games are available in download and instant play (Flash) modes with PC and Mac compatible desktop and laptop computers. Also, the games can be easily converted into mobile gaming formats for access through smart phones and tablets that are compatible with popular operating systems like Windows Phone, iOS for Apple products and Android. It’ worth noting that WagerLogic’s games are controlled by a random number generator that is subject to period testing and certification based jurisdictional requirements.
About the Games
WagerLogic’s suite of games contains games from a wide range of gaming genres, including poker, video poker, table games (Pai Gow, Craps, Blackjack, Roulette, Baccarat and various table poker games) and a large selection of classic and video slots. Many of the company’s top video slots are branded titles such as Superman, X-Men, Batman, Call to Duty, The Hulk, Braveheart, Forrest Gump and Ferris Bueller’s Day off.
Verdict: Little is known about WagerLogic these days, but its games live on in the industry. For the most part, the company gets high marks for both creativity and innovation based on the use of really cool video features and bonus games that keep players entertained.
